Bold CMS: The next step in our journey
Quintype today is used by over 50+ publishers globally in Asia, Africa and North America. Our publishers collectively host over two million stories authored by thousands of writers and serve billions of readers across the globe — more than we ever could have imagined when we first started.
Bold - the content management system (CMS) from Quintype, was tailor-made to cater to a specific group of our customers whose main area of focus was the news vertical. Since 2015, we've gradually broadened the product scope and added new features to meet the growing customer needs and changing technology landscape.

On taking a census of the support queries, it was found that over 44% of support questions were UI related and due to inconsistent user experience. This led our design team to work on creating a unified design language for the product. Ease of access and an intuitive product design were the key challenges that the team set out to tackle. We introduced Bold to a handful of customers and decided to test the usage analytics.
A comparative study between the old and the enhanced interface usage revealed that 20% of first-time users found the old UI was overloaded with information and complicated to familiarize with. With the UI elements and user experience made consistent throughout the product, we noticed the time taken by our active users to complete the most used features such as content creation, distribution workflows and editing content, have become more seamless than before.
And thus, after having spent a considerable amount of time and effort, we now introduce to you the much more visually appealing, faster and all the more efficient, Bold.
A new design language: we rebuilt the CMS from ground up and simplified the UI to enable you to create and distribute your content better. Highlights of this overhaul range from configurable color palettes (Dark Mode FTW!), consistent and concise UI labels, messages etc.
Organized Workflows: we have made a considerable reduction in the number of clicks the user may have to resort to, to perform any given action. You can add images or video links to your story from the same space of creation without having to venture through screens.
Better Collaborations: you can integrate with external third party production tools swiftly and effectively to fasten your content creation or publishing.
It took us a whole lot of reading, research, talking, interviewing, let's not mention the passionate feature debates and intense planning to roll out this product to you. While we got a seamless product ready for you, we must confess, what a formidable task it has been for us. It took the blood and sweat and countless sleepless nights of the entire product design team to bring Bold to where it stands today.
The new BOLD interface is available for all our existing users. Refer FAQs to read more on how to make a switch from the old to the new UI. For those of you who would like to try the product can access the 14 day free trial here.
CMSCritic in one of their reviews has referred to Quintype as a “True Digital Publishing Platform” directed at the dedicated content creator, with all aspects from the design to the UI to the UX focused on the content. And this is exactly what we have tried to render in Bold, a content management system that serves as a one-stop solution for all your creation and publication needs.
